Requirements
Foreign students who wish to be admitted to four-year course are required to have a (senior) highschool diploma, GCE or equivalent. Furthermore the student should be able to demonstrate a good command of the English language (TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6.0). The minimum age for the course is 18.

In some cases it is possible to be admitted to the third year, if the student has studied at a university or college for at least two years in similar field of study. The student needs to have relevant work experience in order to be admitted. The minimum age is 21.The student will attend semesters 6 and 7. If these are completed successfully, this one-year programme can be followed by a business placement and graduation project in semester 8.
The duration of the course will be eighteen months. The exam committee will decide whether the student meets the required standards.


It is also possible for a foreign student to attend one semester of the International Business and Management Studies programme as an exchange student.



To be admitted to the four-years or to eighteen months IBMS courses you need, as a student, to send the Preliminary Enrolement Form.

Scholarships

Fontys University has almost no scholarships available for foreign students.

For students from Europe (i.e.the countries of the European Union, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Cyprus, Estonia, Liechtenstein, Hungary, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Poland, Rumania, Slovenia, Slovakia) Socratesgrants could be available, but not for more than one year. Students should apply for these grants at the university in their own country.

For students coming from China, Indonesia or South Africa (only those countries) there could be some grant from the Deltaprogramme, but only a few students from these countries can get such a grant. Ask the programme leader of the programme of your choice about the possibilities in your case.

Employment possibilities for foreign students in the Netherlands, especially for those from outside the EU, are limited (not more than 10 hours a week or fulltime seasonal work in June, July and August.. See www.studyin.nl, click on 'Living in the Netherlands' for more information.
