International Business and Management Studies (IBMS)
International Business and Management Study is one of the two majors of the institute of Marketing Management. Its main emphasis is on issues and challenges in the field of International Marketing and Management.


The business environment tends to get focused on the international scope of doing business. Competition is getting tougher and is coming from companies all over the world. Political and economic conditions make national borders disappear. Modern means of communication open new possibilities to broaden the field of business. All this creates new challenges and opportunities for young professionals who are prepared for marketing and management functions in international business.


In the International Business and Management Studies course students learn to deal with problems such as:
  • how to launch a product on a foreign market;
  • how to organise the company's international activities;
  • how to react to and prepare for changes in the political, economic and legal environment;
  • how to use the Internet in E-business activities;
  • how to plan and control the financial resources for international activities.


Characteristic of the International Business and Management Studies course is the broad business perspective. The core topics are:

  • International Management
  • International Marketing
  • Management and Financial Accounting
  • Management Information Systems

Students are trained in:

  • preparing and evaluating a company's international strategy;
  • the management skills that enable them to operate in an international company with several cultural backgrounds;
  • condacting market research and drawing up an international marketing and sales plan;
  • handling an insight in modern management information systems (MIS) and the possibilities of E-business.
